                                   ISBN & BAR CODE ASSIGNMENTS

An ISBN is the unique numeric identifier that's used around the world to identify books.

  • It is the identification link enabling book-sellers and readers, to know essential information about a particular title. The International Book Standard Number (ISBN) is a 13-digit number that uniquely identifies a book and book like products published internationally.
  • The ISBN standards are adopted worldwide. An ISBN is unique identifier for your book. It is used to simplify distribution and purchase of book throughout the global supply chain.
  • Retailers, Distributors and Wholesalers require ISBN'S to track book inventory.
  • Buying an ISBN improves the chances your book will be found. Obtaining an ISBN and registering your titles insures information about your book will be stored in Bowker's Books in Print database. Over 100 million people access this data when searching for books; and it all starts with buying an ISBN.
  • An ISBN gets placed on the copyright page and, if there is no bar code, on the back cover.
  • What is the difference between a Bar Code and an ISBN? An ISBN is a number. A Bar Code is the graphic with the vertical lines that encodes numerical information for scanning purposes. An ISBN and a bar code are two different things.
  • When an ISBN has been assigned to your book SUNSHINE SENTIMENTS will report it to R.R. Bowker as the database of record. We will submit your title information where it will be registered with Books in Print at www.bowkerlink.com
  • When you use our services we can offer both the ISBN & Barcode for $125.00.
